MCI Expands, Renames Reseller Program.
2005-02-08, HostMan.biz Internet service and Web hosting provider MCI (mci.com) announced on Tuesday that it has revamped its US channel program to meet the needs of its value-added resellers. The newly renamed MCI Solution Provider Channel program, the company says, now gives resellers of MCI's Internet, data, voice and managed services the means to accelerate sales and provide greater value to customers. The revamped program is now organized into three tiers, a move MCI says will give resellers the opportunity to increase benefits as their revenue and participation grows. MCI is also launching a certification program for its key IP offerings, including hosting, private IP, IP VPN, MCI Advantage, security, managed network services and local voice. The certification program, MCI says, enables resellers to demonstrate their knowledge of MCI products and services in order to meet the requirements of customers who are transitioning to IP. "These enhancements take our Solution Provider program to the next level," says Todd Gerdes, senior vice president of MCI's solution provider channel. "We are expanding the sphere and influence of our program to be a win-win situation for MCI and our Solution Providers." MCI said it has also restructured its commission schedule and expanded the marketing assistance it provides to resellers. Last week, it was reported that MCI was in talks regarding a possible sale to Qwest Communications or Verizon. |
