Rackforce Hosting Al Qaeda-linked Site.
2005-02-07, HostMan.biz According to reports, an Islamic Web site that is linked to terrorist group al Qaeda is running on a server based in British Columbia, Canada operated by Web hosting provider Rackforce (rackforce.com). The Web site is called Supporters of Shareeah. Abu Hamza al-Masri, one of the site's directors, is currently jailed in England for his alleged part in the bombing of the USS Cole in 2000. Shareeah is a concept of Islamic rule. Supporters of the Web site are reportedly considered radical. Rackforce reportedly said the content posted to the server did not originate from the city of Kelowna, where Rackforce is based. The company said it was unaware of the content on the site and is investigating. The company pledged to review the site and cooperate with law enforcement agencies if necessary. Rackforce's network hosts more than 80,000 Web sites, according to reports. |
