Levanta Joins OSDL.
2005-02-04, HostMan.biz The Open Source Development Labs (osdl.org), a global consortium dedicated to accelerating the adoption of Linux in the enterprise, announced this week that it has added Levanta (levanta.com) as a new member. Based in San Francisco, Levanta is a provider of Linux configuration management, systems provisioning and software. "Levanta is involved in many large-scale enterprise Linux installations and we see the enterprise adoption of Linux accelerating," says Akmal Khan, president and COO of Levanta. "We're excited to join OSDL and to combine our Linux development efforts with other large IT vendors through the OSDL working groups." Levanta, OSDL says, will participate in the Data Center Linux and Desktop Linux working groups. "The number of Linux deployments in enterprises is growing faster than on any other operating system platform," says Stuart Cohen, CEO of OSDL. "We're pleased that Levanta is joining OSDL and bringing their expertise in large-scale Linux systems management and provisioning to the Lab's working groups." |
