Red Hat Establishes Government Unit.
2005-02-03, HostMan.biz Linux distributor Red Hat (redhat.com) announced on Wednesday that it has established a new government business unit and named Paul Smith to head it as vice president of government sales operations. The company said the new unit was set up to enable Red Hat to respond to the increasing demand for its products and services by governments around the world. "Governments globally are looking for secure platforms to manage complex information systems and more effectively deliver services to citizens," says Matthew Szulik, chairman and CEO of Red Hat. "Establishing a new business unit with Mr. Smith at the helm will enable us to serve our government customers well." Smith has over twenty years of experience in marketing technology to the government sector. Prior to joining Red Hat, he was vice president of government operations at storage solution developer VERITAS. |
