GeoTrust, GMO Sign Distribution Deal.
2005-01-18, HostMan.biz Internet security solution provider GeoTrust (geotrust.com) announced on Tuesday that it has signed a multi-year distribution contract with Global Media Online division GMO, extending a partnership started in 2002. According to the deal, GMO Group, GeoTrust Japan will continue to be the exclusive in-country distributor of GeoTrust identity verification and e-security solutions in Japan. The company markets the solutions under the GeoTrust Japan brand. "Online security is a very important component of e-business for the web hosting marketplace and for our enterprise customers," stated Ichiro Chujo, CEO of GeoTrust Japan." The Japanese e-business market is growing very rapidly and GeoTrust's products allow us to deliver high-quality solutions to our customers more quickly than competitive solutions. We are pleased to be able to extend our successful relationship with GeoTrust." GeoTrust Japan offers the full line of GeoTrust products, including digital certificates for identity verification, client certificates for secure access and SSL certificates for e-commerce and Web security. "In the two years that GMO Group, GeoTrust Japan has been our partner in Japan, our market share has grown from less than 1% to over 13%, according to the latest survey released from Netcraft, an Internet market research company," stated Neal Creighton, CEO and co-founder of GeoTrust. "They have done an excellent job at creating new markets for our products, while also taking market share from VeriSign. We are honored to have them as our partner in this very strategic market." |
