McAfee Introduces SiteDigger 2.0.
2005-01-11, HostMan.biz McAfee, Inc. (mcafee.com), a provider of intrusion prevention solutions, today announced that its security services group, Foundstone Professional Services, has released SiteDigger 2.0, a security tool designed to help companies identify internal information that has been made available on the Web. The Foundstone SiteDigger 2.0 tool uses indexed search information at Google to quickly pinpoint human error information vulnerabilities that appear on search engines, such as the accidental exposure of confidential information including financial records, passwords, and personal information on an organization's Web site. The tool includes seven categories including: privacy, back-up files, configuration mistakes, remote administrator interface, error messages, public vulnerabilities, and technology profile. The tool provides signature update functionality and a dynamic graphical user interface, which was built using C#, SOAP and Web services on the Microsoft.NET framework. "While companies have become increasingly vigilant about guarding their corporate networks from break-ins, they also need to be able to account for potential human errors with information inadvertently made visible on the Internet," said Mark Curphey, director of consulting for Foundstone Professional Services at McAfee, Inc. "McAfee is committed to providing the necessary tools to safeguard personal and private information and the increased functionality of our SiteDigger tool helps companies protect private information that is mistakenly made available through their Web sites" said Curphey. |
